Boulder, Colorado is known for beautiful sites, the Pearl Street mall, having a mention in Chainsmokers hit, Closer, and is the place everyone wants to be. Traveling to Boulder fairly often to see family, I have discovered some fun and inexpensive things to do while visiting this beautiful area of the country.
1. Visit the Red Rocks Amphitheater
The Red Rocks Amphitheater is a free and fun thing to do while you’re in the area. This amphitheater has held concerts for some of the biggest names in history. From the Beatles to U2 and even Bob Marley performed there.
There is also a museum about the area and geology that might interest you. The views of Denver in the background make you want to stay a little longer.

2. Go to Dinosaur Ridge
Dinosaur Ridge is a hidden gem. We found it driving on the highway and had to stop because my husband was a big dino fan when he was a kid (who am I kidding, he still is). We pulled off and had the best time ever. We’ll still talk about it to this day.
Dino Ridge is a mile walk on an old road that was closed off because of the fossils they found. You get to learn the history of dinosaurs that used to roam there and look at the Great Plains. Standing there, I was in awe that it used to be the ocean floor. This is a MUST DO according to the Adventure Gal. Find out more here: http://www.dinoridge.org/

3. Hit up the shops on Pearl Street Mall
The Pearl Street Mall is one of the largest outdoor pedestrian malls in the country. You can go to shops like Patagonia, The North Face, Urban Outfitters, and the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Don’t forget to check out the street performers who will amaze you!

4. Go hiking
The best part about Boulder is not that it is just beautiful, but that you are so close to the mountains that it takes 10 minutes to get to a good hiking spot. If you go West, you will eventually hit a road that swerves up the mountains and will offer some incredible views.

5. Explore
You can find a lot in Boulder. Especially just driving around and exploring all of the cool things to see. Don’t be afraid to ask a local what they like to do best. You’ll get the best ideas from them. Have fun!
